For GM / General Motors. The driveshaft on AWD 2010 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac SRX, and Saab 9-4X vehicles plugs into the PTU output pinion, and is held in position with a retaining ring. The driveshaft cannot be struck with a mallet to release it, or the CV joint will be damaged. DT-49030 fits between the driveshaft and the PTU, and has a leverage block designed to fit into the PTU housing. The handle of DT-49030 is pushed forward to unseat the retaining ring, and allow driveshaft removal. Unapproved methods will damage the driveshaft.
